Efficiency and scalability with large amounts of information

PpcSoft iKnow is designed to be very easy to use for beginners, but still powerful enough to keep up with you as your needs grow !

If all you need is 3-4 yellow notes to manage your information, any tool will do the trick (you don't even need a tool). However, many knowledge workers today are experiencing information overload as the amount of information is exploding, and the tools they use are not able to keep up.

When we designed PpcSoft iKnow, we researched how to successfully cope with huge amounts of information, and found that the answer was Wikipedia and Google.

By combining the power of linking and search you will find what you need when you need it !

A powerful single note

PpcSoft iKnow is designed to handle both a lot of power in a single note (example using only 12 notes), and also handle a lot of notes (max 100,000).

In this example, a single note 'phone numbers' will give you a quick list of hundreds of contacts with their phone numbers.

You can also add an image to each person to quickly remind you who they are, and the most important people may get their own note with more details about them and their relation to you.

Moving your mouse over a link will show a preview of the picture, or a preview of the additional information you have in a separate note. Each image is loaded dynamically, so your note will open instantly, even if you have a hundred huge images in it.

Lots of notes (max. 100,000)

As you add more notes, PpcSoft iKnow scales with it, maintaining the speed, ease-of-use and efficiency whether you have 5 or 50,000 notes.

We've spent a lot of effort on performance, and you'll see that PpcSoft iKnow is efficient on your desktop, laptop and netbook computer, and also running from your USB stick (you can even run it from a USB stick on a netbook - it won't be lightning fast, but it will be fast, even with 50,000 notes).

Demo data file (50,000 notes)

Download a demo file with more than 50,000 notes to test the performance and ease-of-use of PpcSoft iKnow with lots of notes - Download Zip.

Unzip the file and then open with PpcSoft iKnow. The zip file is 3,5 MB (7 MB unzipped). It contains a demo file and a subfolder with a few images to demonstrate the new images functionality.

Most tools don't scale that well as you add more information - and unfortunately you often won't discover this until you've used it for a long time and already added a lot of data. At this point, when the tool becomes nearly unusable, it is almost too late to change as you've invested so much time into it, and it will probably be a lot of work to switch tools.

We have created this demo file so that you can test the scalability for yourself, and see that PpcSoft iKnow will grow with your needs and stay lightning fast, even with lots of data.

In fact, PpcSoft iKnow will actually become more powerful and useful as you add more notes, as the automatic linking will connect and cross-link both your old and new notes.

But don't take our word for it - try for yourself !
