PpcSoft iKnow for Mac OS X and Linux

PpcSoft iKnow is a tool designed for Microsoft Windows XP / Vista / 7.

However, to avoid lock-in we have created a simple, text-based dataformat that can be viewed and edited in any standard text-editor on any platform.

In addition, thanks to the wonders of virtualization you can run PpcSoft iKnow in other OS'es using virtualization software like VMWare.

This screenshot shows PpcSoft iKnow running under Mac OS X using VMWare (which is using Windows Server 2003 as the OS in this example).

PpcSoft iKnow datafile edited directly in Mac OS X and Ubuntu (Linux)

No matter what platform you're using, your iKnow datafile can be viewed and edited in any standard text-editor (that is Unicode-compatible).

As you can see in the examples, the custom dataformat is easy to read and understand, and you shouldn't have any trouble reading and editing the files directly.

Of course, you lose a lot of power without PpcSoft iKnow, but the main difference is that you won't get the autolinks that connect your notes automatically.
