Creativity

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."
- Scott Adams

All known creative techniques can be categorized depending on the methods and means utilized:
- Randomization (Brainstorming, Synectics, Image streaming)
- Focusing techniques (Morphological analysis, Osborn questionary, Attribute listing)
- Evolutionary directed techniques (HBGA, Laws of system evolution)
- Knowledge-base techniques (Altshuller matrix or Contradiction table and 40 Innovation principles)
- Conceptual blending techniques. Michael Michalko

Popular techniques; Trial and error, Brainstorming, Lateral Thinking

Get into the "flow" state:
1. Goal: What result do you want ?
2. Motivation: Why should you do it ?
3. Challenge: Not too easy, not too hard
4. Environment: Stimulating or quiet, undisturbed
5. Time: Set aside a minimum time to focus
6. No interruptions: When you start getting creative, don't be disturbed !

And if you can't seem to get into "flow" - go for a walk outside, and then start again !
