(this note is part of the default data file)

If you want to store a lot of similar notes, like a list of contacts, list of products or list of common support questions or answers, you should create a template first.

A template is an ordinary note like any other, but you use it differently.

In this example, you have created a template for contacts ('People'), and you've named it xPeople. The reason for this name is that the x will ensure that the template is listed at the bottom alphabetically, and it is also quick and easy to find templates if you use the x in front of the name (e.g. xCustomers, xProducts, xSupport etc).

To create a new contact, you would open the xPeople note and click the 'Template' icon in the upper right corner (or press Ctrl+Shift+N). Give the new note a name (e.g. 'BillGates') and press Enter. This will create a new note that keeps the current text.

Then it is simply a matter of 'filling in the blanks' and you're done !

Tip: When you create a template, make sure you also add any tabs to each line to make the data aligned and readable (instead of aligning within each copy).
