Price, service, features
- pick two

The project triangle

The Project Triangle is typically used for the choices Fast, Good and Cheap - where you are asked to pick any two.

The triangle reflects the fact that the properties are interrelated, and you cannot optimize all three.

The Project Triangle is mainly used for (surprise) projects, but can be used for both physical products and software as well.

For physical products, the choices are often Price, Service and Quality as better quality is usually more expensive.

However, for software you don't differentiate on quality (well, competitors often differentiate on quality, but the same company does not release both a high and low quality version of the same product).

For the record: The quality of a software product is chosen by the developers, and quality is very important to us !

Instead of quality, software differentiate on features.

3 editions: Professional, Standard and Home

To make PpcSoft iKnow available to as many people as possible, we have created three different editions.

Three PpcSoft iKnow editions; Professional, Standard and Home

As you can see from the charts, the main difference is in Price and Service. The features are almost the same; in fact, the main difference in features is the number of notes you're allowed to store (500 for Home, 1,000 for Standard and 100,000 for Professional).

The Home edition offers more power and some support (1 month) for a very low price ($29). The Standard edition offers some support (3 months) for a modest price ($79) while the Professional edition offers full support (1 year) for a higher price ($279).

The $249 Professional edition

The professional edition is aimed at professional knowledge workers (business). PpcSoft iKnow will increase your productivity, and you will therefore save money for your organization (if it doesn't, stop using it !).

Paying for PpcSoft iKnow ensures that it will be maintained, improved and further developed in the future. Paying also gives you support and help if you need it. The professional editon also includes free upgrades for a year.

So what can you get for US $249 ?

- a single night in a hotel
- a dinner with a client
- a night at the Sydney Opera House
- 1-2 hours of consulting
- a roundtrip flight from New York to San Fransisco
- or PpcSoft iKnow Pro
What do you get for $249

The $79 Standard edition

For individuals and small businesses with tight budgets, the $79 Standard edition offers more power than the Home edition and some support to help get people started.

If you don't need "the best and the latest", you may choose to purchase the standard edition and then only upgrade every few years to save money.

The $29 Home edition

For personal use, the very low priced Home edition is an excellent choice. You'll get plenty of notes (more than enough for most casual users) and some support to get you started.

If you find that you need more than 500 notes, you're a power user and should strongly consider the professional edition (or your boss should get it for you).

Which edition should you choose ? What kind of user are you ?

"I want something easy, cheap and powerful"
For personal use we're offering the Home editon at a bargain price. PpcSoft iKnow Home edition is only $29 and gives you max. 500 notes.

"I want something easy to use at work. But I need to use more than 500 notes"
If you need more than a 500 notes, you probably find PpcSoft iKnow useful and valuable. PpcSoft iKnow Standard edition is only $79 and gives you max. 1,000 notes.

"My time is valuable and I want to be able to get help quickly if I need it ! I also want an easy way to upgrade and get the latest version. And I want the best."
PpcSoft iKnow Professional gives you world-class support and includes upgrades and maintenance for a year for only $249 or lower (and max. 100,000 notes).
