PKM for Managers
"A manager is responsible for the application and performance of knowledge"
- Peter Drucker
Management means the act of getting people together to accomplish desired goals.
A manager should help the people she/he manages do their job to the best of their abilities. When times are tough, getting the most out of your people is even more important.
PpcSoft iKnow is designed to help people get all the stuff out of their heads and into the computer, freeing their mind to create and be creative.
The main purpose of PpcSoft iKnow is to increase your productivity (see TCO and ROI).
ROI
ROI (return on investment) is the ratio of money gained or lost on an investment relative to the amount of money invested.
Example (simplified):
| - Price/Cost: | $250 |
| - Work days | 250 (50 weeks x 5 days) |
| = Cost per day | $1 a day |
| - Salary/Cost: | $25 per hour |
$25 per hour / 60 minutes = $0.40 per minute (less than 3 minutes a day).
If you save 3 minutes a day using PpcSoft iKnow, you'll reach break-even. If you save more than 3 minutes a day, you'll have a positive return on investment your first year of use.
If you for example save 30 minutes a day at $25 an hour, you'll save $12.5 x 5 = $62.5 a week, and $62.5 x 50 = $3.125 a year !
However, we don't believe the greatest benefit is the time you save itself, but rather what you can accomplish with the extra time you get !
If you earn $50.000 a year in salary, you'll usually (and hopefully) earn a great deal more for your company.
In addition, a typical 40 hour work week does not mean you create or produce something 40 hours a week, as many of these hours are spent on meetings and "repeatable processes" that 'must' be done. Freeing 30 minutes a day may mean that you're doubling your available 'think-time'.....
And finally, if you manage many people, a little time saved for each person will soon add up.
